The Wilderness Lodge Lake Moeraki offers luxury, eco-friendly accommodation in a unique, natural setting on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island.

Set in the heart of the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area - 2.7 million hectares - Wilderness Lodge Lake Moeraki comprises unique accommodation surrounded by towering rainforests and pristine seacoast. Join nature guides to explore the lakes, rivers, forests, birds, seals and Fiordland Crested penguins of this area.

This eco-friendly lodge is landscaped in a lakeside clearing surrounded by 1000 year old rainforest trees, and offers a high level of comfort in 24 Rainforest Rooms and 4 Riverview Rooms (all with private bathrooms), with lounges and a restaurant overlooking the lovely Moeraki rapids.

Have a relaxed drink and meal in the tranquil Moeraki Lounge as you watch the river roll by, native birds and trout jumping are a wonderful tonic in a hectic world. Radiating from the lodge is a network of rainforest and Tasman seacoast walks.

This eco-friendly accommodation provides a fleet of canoes for you to explore Lake Moeraki and the Moeraki river. A team of guides from the lodge will introduce you to crested penguins, fur seals, giant tame eels and New Zealand's unique birdlife and ancient forests.
